FAQs

Meet Your Instructors

Hear from graduate,
Katherine Dyke:

Katherine Dyke

"The WKU Project Management course was a huge help in laying down the foundation of knowledge that the PMP test is built upon, and our instructor was very good at explaining the more complex concepts. I’m glad I did the course and passed the PMP certification examination on my first attempt.  I don’t think I would have been nearly as prepared for the test if I had only done self-study."

Frequently Asked Questions

Will graduates be able apply for the PMP® exam offered through the Project Management Institute?

WKU’s Project Management Certificate program provides the 35 hours of project management education training required by the PMI. Visit the PMI website to learn about their additional requirements at http://www.pmi.org/

Are there financing opportunities for the Project Management Certificate program?

Yes, WKU has established an account with Sallie Mae to help students with financial needs. For more information please contact an advisor at projectmanagement@wku.edu or (270) 282-2112

As a non-credit certificate program, the Project Management Certificate program does not qualify for the most federal financial aid programs such as FAFSA or grant funding. We do work with Sallie Mae to secure loans for our students. Sallie Mae will evaluate your credit score and may recommend a co-borrower for those with low scores or minimal credit history.

What is the enrollment deadline?

This is an open enrollment program. In order to enroll, you must submit a completed registration form and full form of payment. It is strongly recommended that you register two weeks prior to a course start date.

What is a non-credit program?

A non-credit certificate program means that credit hours toward an undergraduate or graduate degree are not awarded for your participation in the program.

What if I experience a difficult life event and must withdraw from the program?

If you encounter a life event that might interrupt your participation in the WKU program, please discuss the matter immediately with a student advisor. In the past, we have been able to work with students to arrange for future participation in the program with no extra charge.

I still have additional questions. Does WKU have advisors for the Project Management Certificate that I can speak to further?

Yes, please contact our program advisor at projectmanagement@wku.edu or (270) 282-2112. They will be happy to answer your questions.
