Remembering Paul Gray

Paul E. Gray was born on April 20, 1952, in Shelby Co., KY.  Paul found himself in Bowling Green as a Hilltopper when he attended Western Kentucky University in the 1970s and was also the men’s basketball manager. Paul transferred to the University of Kentucky to attend physical therapy school, before he returned to Bowling Green to begin his career.

Paul gained respect through the Bowling Green community as a physical therapist and an avid photographer. In his spare time, Paul attended sporting events throughout the region to capture the enthusiasm of Southern Kentucky sports and shared his pictures with the student athletes. Paul’s involvement in the community and his outgoing and giving personality will be fondly remembered through the many lives he touched.

On June 9, 2018 Paul Gray passed away shortly after photographing the Bowling Green Purples victory in the State Baseball Tournament. Paul is survived by his wife of 32 years, Rox’Anne Thompson Gray, and his daughter, Katie Gray. To remember Paul his family established the Paul Gray Memorial Scholarship Fund to benefit students attending Western Kentucky University. Through this scholarship fund, Paul’s legacy will live on in perpetuity.
