Alexis Swift Scholarship Fund

Remembering Alexis

Alexis Nicole Swift was born in Muncie, Indiana on August 27, 1997 to Jeromiah and Angie Modglin Swift. After attending kindergarten in Muncie, Alexis and her family moved to Bowling Green where they have remained ever since. Throughout her career in Warren County Schools Alexis was an active student and athlete. She was a talented swimmer and achieved much during her career, even earning several awards for her accomplishments. As a sixth grader, she accomplished a major feat when she swam in the high school state meet. She earned "Honorable Mention" three years from Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) and was a treasured member of the Greenwood High School swim team for three years. She was also involved with many things in the community, such as Race Aquatics where she swam, Excel Aquatics, and Bowling Green Country Club, where she held multiple school and club records for swimming. Ever around water, Alexis also worked as a lifeguard at Russell Sims Aquatic Center for the last five years.

In 2016 Alexis graduated from Greenwood High School and attended Bowling Green Medical Institute of Kentucky. There she earned a phlebotomy certification and then began classes at Southcentral Kentucky Community & Technical College.

In August 2016 just before her 19th birthday, Alexis passed away. To honor her legacy as an athlete and beloved friend and daughter, her parents established the Alexis Swift Scholarship Fund. Through this fund other students will be helped in pursuing their goals and the memory of Alexis will live on in perpetuity.
