Research Methodology & Statistics

In an effort to strengthen the methodological, statistical and research skills of faculty and graduate students at WKU, the Center for Innovative Teaching & Learning offers one-day and multi-day workshops each academic year that focus on building new quantitative and qualitative research skills, including evaluation research and assessment. Over the past two years the CFD has offered directly or coordinated/facilitated the delivery of workshops focused on the following topics:

  • Hierarchical Linear Modeling *
  • Predictive Analytics and Data Mining using SAS * 
  • Visual Analytics and Visual Statistics using SAS *
  • Developing and Administering a Social Survey *
  • Extensions of Linear Regression and ANOVA using Stata
  • Structural Equation Modeling (SEM)*
  • Evaluation Research

During the 2016-2017 academic year, the CFD is planning and coordinating the delivery of multi-day workshops focused on: (1) community-based research; and (2) longitudinal research design and statistical analysis. More details on each of these workshops will be disseminated via a faculty-all email and posted here.
