Dr. Carter,

We arrived here in Werne on Tuesday afternoon, so our first day was on Wednesday. Despite some travel issues, such as my checked-in luggage not arriving on the same flight as me, the experience has been superb to this point.

The three subjects I am teaching are Geography, Politics, and English. The grade levels I am with are 6th, 7th, 8th, and 11th. Wednesday and yesterday were mostly observation days, but there were a few times when I helped the students if they had a question. Today's big event was meeting the major of the city, during which time he gave us a formal welcome to the city. Also, today we had a tutoring session with 6th grade students, whose English is not up to par with the other students in their class, during the last two periods of the day. Next week I will probably start picking up lessons to teach.

My host family is extremely nice and I am getting along with them extremely well. Also, all of the individuals we have met from Werne have been just as welcoming to us.

This weekend I am planning on going to Münster with Mary and her host family, and possibly one other from our group. Overall, I am having an excellent experience and if you need any more information please contact me and let me know.

Tschüss!

Jonathon Lynn
