Description: Child of the Night: Pirates of the Mediterranean Written by Alan White. Based on the play The Son of the Night; the Pirate by Victor Séjour, Alexandre Dumas, père, Gérard de Nerval & Bernard Lopez. Set sail for adventure in this world premiere adaptation of a 19th century pirate melodrama written primarily by Victor Séjour, America’s first Black professional playwright. Asra del Mar is the most feared pirate in the Mediterranean, but a web of secrets links her to nobility and rebellion in 16th century Naples. Will she be able to reclaim her birthright and defeat imperial Spain, or will lies from the past destroy her and those she loves? Russell H.
