The minor in Citizenship & Social Justice provides graduates with a foundational understanding of concepts, issues, strategies, and practices of social justice from interdisciplinary and community-based perspectives. Students will engage citizenship and social justice through multiple lenses of critical theory and engagement.


Are you interested in declaring the Citizenship & Social Justice Minor?

Already a WKU student, but want to minor in Citizenship & Social Justice?  In order to declare Citienship & Social Justice as  your minor, you will need to complete the Change of Major Form. This form can be found through Topnet under “Student Services/Student Records.” Please print and complete the form. After completing the form, you will then need to contact the CSJ advisor, Leah Ashwill to make an appointment to finalize the form. Once you have met with Ms. Ashwill, she will fax the Change of Major form to Academic Advising.  Please allow a few days for the change to show up in TopNet.


Scholarship opportunity for any undergraduate student who has officially claimed a minor in African American Studies, Gender & Women's Studies, or Citizenship & Social Justice.

Amount: $500-$1,000, to be deposited in the student's WKU account.

Deadline: March 1, 2018.
