Choosing to attend graduate school is a big career move, and the Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) is here to help you determine if a graduate degree is the best fit for you and your career. It is important to consider the time commitment, both during the application process and as a graduate student; the cost; the potential benefit; and the possibility of deferring attendance. We highly recommend that you discuss your decision with your faculty advisor, a Career Coach, and friends and family.
The CCPD has compiled the following list of online resources to help you make an informed decision:
- Choosing Programs provides several online tools that can help you research graduate and professional programs.
- Considering the Costs outlines common fees that you should expect and provides information on finding financial assistance.
- Managing the Application includes a sample timeline and lists information on preparing for admissions exams, requesting recommendation letters, and writing a state of purpose and resume.
If you have any question or if you would like to make an appointment to talk with a Career Coach, please contact our office by calling (270)-745-3095 or emailing CareerHelp@wku.edu.
