Advancing Workplace Culture


 

Mission Statement: The mission of the Advancing Workplace Culture (AWC) initiative is to provide programming, training, and consulting that equips organizational leaders and members with the skills necessary to lead a diverse workforce in an equitable and inclusive manner.  We believe in a culture-led approach to aiding institutions in making competitive, comprehensive, and sustainable change.

 

Current Workshops Available for Scheduling

  • Where do we begin? Leadership Training for Having Honest, Relationship-Oriented Conversations Around DEI

This session is targeted towards organizational leadership & DEI champions on how to have on-going DEI related conversations and discussion groups.  There is a desire to develop more inclusive cultures within organizations, but many have yet to develop ways to get started towards making the necessary cultural shift. This session offers suggestions for beginning that journey with honest conversations, relationship building, and expanding empathy and understanding. 

  • Leading in a Peer Environment

This session provides tools to lead in a peer environment while building a culture of inclusion toward shared company goals. Additionally, you will learn the theory and application of management principles as well as hone in on your own skills that are transferrable to the workplace.

  • Allyship in the Workplace

This session explores, reviews and builds on history, practices, and standards while delving into current and relevant change being seen from a corporate perspective (which also includes diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives). Lastly, this course is meant to develop your own personal advocacy.

  • DEI-Informed Hiring & Onboarding Practices

In this session, you willlearn more about being intentional and keeping diversity and equity front of mind through the hiring and recruiting process.  Also learn about how to create more welcoming and inclusive onboarding practices.

Individual Consulting: In addition to our workshop offerings, we provide customized, multi-faceted consulting services.  We would love to sit down with you and discuss what particular workplace issues you would like to address.  We will examine and review potential changes that need to made at the individual, the group/team, and the organizational level.  Our consulting approach is also culture-centered, as we understand that success metrices of any organization depend on the attitudes and behaviors of its members.
