WKU offices in Bowling Green will open at 10 a.m. Friday. Classes Friday remain canceled and campuses in Glasgow, Owensboro and Elizabethtown/Ft. Knox remain closed Friday. Research

Professor Shannon specializes in personal selling/sale management, marketing ethics, sports marketing, and retailing. He has ten years of business experience in sales and retail management. His current research focuses on curriculum issues, sales force motivation, compensation, and training, marketing ethics, and sports marketing. He has presented seminars on marketing education to students, parents, and educators. He has also conducted workshops and training sessions for educators and practitioners on relationship marketing, sales, and customer service, the personal selling process, and reatil store operations and management.

Professor Shannon is a member of numerous national, regional and local professional organizations, targeted towards both practitioners and educators. He has served as an officer in a professional chapter of the American Marketing Association. His research has appeared in the Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Services Marketing, Sport Marketing Quarterly, Journal of Teaching in International Business, Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice, Marketing Education Review, and the Journal of Customer Service in Management and Marketing, as well as numerous regional, national, and international conference proceedings. He has also served as a reviewer for numerous journals, conferences and textbooks.
