Accounting Students Earn KyCPA Scholarships

Three WKU Accounting students of the Gordon Ford College of Business were selected to receive scholarships for 2017 through the Kentucky Society of CPAs Educational Foundation.

Ms. Kaitlyn Cummins, a senior Accounting major from Louisville KY; Mr. Joseph Raj, a senior Accounting and Business Informatics double major from Vine Grove KY; and Mr. Grant Rohleder, a senior Accounting and Chinese double major from Louisville KY, will receive scholarships ranging between $1,000 and $2,500 each.

“We are proud of these three accomplished students,” said. Dr. Harold Little, Chair of the Department of Accounting. “The committee receives more than 80 applications each year, so competition is intense.”

The students will be recognized at the Spring Awards Banquet on Friday, April 28 at the Galt House in Louisville.

“The Gordon Ford College of Business has a long tradition of accounting education excellence. The students selected by the Kentucky Society of CPAs have clearly distinguished themselves as outstanding in their studies and will certainly be excellent future accountants,” said Dr. Jeff Katz, Dean of the Gordon Ford College of Business. “They effectively represent the many dedicated students that our College is proud to serve.”

The KyCPA Educational Foundation awards more than $63,000 in scholarship benefits to college students across the Commonwealth of Kentucky each year.
