Alumni, faculty, staff, administrators, community members and students are invited to nominate individuals who are recent alumni from the Gordon ford College of Business. (A Business graduate during the past ten years.) Selection of an awardee(s) will follow the process outlined below.
Nominees must be graduates of Western Kentucky University with a major area of study in the College of Business. Criteria for selection of the awardee(s) include outstanding achievement in one or more of the following categories:
Nominees will be screened and recommended by a committee appointed by the Ford College Dean. Committee members will include a current member of the Ford College Administrative Council, an undergraduate or graduate student, two business alumni, and two members of the faculty in the Ford College.
Nominations are due by March 15, to the Office of the Dean, Gordon Ford College of Business. A letter of nomination with supporting reasons is required. If desired, other materials such as a vita, newspaper articles or documents may accompany the nomination letter. A current address is also required so we may notify nominees.
The award will include public recognition of the awardee(s) and an inscription on a permanent plaque located in Grise Hall. The recipient will also receive an engraved memento or scroll honoring their award for “Recent Alumni Achievement Award.” The award is normally expected to be given at the Spring Faculty and Student Recognition Dinner for the Ford College of Business.
