Recent Alumni Award Guidelines


For recognition at the annual GFCB awards ceremony

Alumni, faculty, staff, administrators, community members and students are invited to nominate individuals who are recent alumni from the Gordon ford College of Business. (A Business graduate during the past ten years.) Selection of an awardee(s) will follow the process outlined below.

Nominees must be graduates of Western Kentucky University with a major area of study in the College of Business. Criteria for selection of the awardee(s) include outstanding achievement in one or more of the following categories:

  1. professional and recognized business accomplishments;
  2. leadership within a business, organization or entrepreneurial venture;
  3. unique and substantial public service contributions;
  4. demonstrated leadership accomplishments;
  5. early career success and efforts which merit recognition that reflects positively upon the Ford College of Business and Western Kentucky University.

Nominees are reviewed and selected by the Gordon Ford Leadership Team.

Nominations are due by noon on March 22, to the Office of the Dean, Gordon Ford College of Business. A letter of nomination with supporting reasons is required. If desired, other materials such as a vita, newspaper articles or documents may accompany the nomination letter. A current address is also required so we may notify award winner.

The award will include public recognition of the awardee(s) and an engraved memento honoring their award for “Business Recent Alumni Achievement Award.” Presentation of the award will be made at the annual college awards ceremony in the spring semester.
