Eaton Student Leadership Award Guidelines


For recognition at the annual GFCB awards ceremony

Undergraduate students are invited to nominate candidates or apply for the Eaton Student Leadership Award. Faculty, staff, alumni, and business executives are encouraged to nominate students who demonstrate and exemplify leadership through student organizations, community service, government agencies or for civic involvement and economic development improvement. Selection of an awardee(s) will follow the process outlined below:

Student Eligibility Requirements

  • Senior Student Status (100 hours or a graduate from December or upcoming May session).
  • Significant leadership role in student organizations within the Gordon Ford College of Business and/or Western Kentucky University
  • Demonstrated record of leadership accomplishments with potential for continuing contributions to employers, co‐workers, the community or other agencies.
  • An academic major in the Gordon Ford College of Business.

Nomination or Application

A one‐page letter of nomination or letter of application summarizing accomplishments of the nominee or applicant is required. A short resume or vita for the nominee or applicant is requested. Material should be submitted to the Office of the Dean, Gordon Ford College of Business, 445 Grise Hall, Bowling Green KY 42101‐3576. The deadline to receive nomination or application letter is noon on March 22.

Award Decision

Nominees are reviewed and selected by the Gordon Ford Leadership Team.

Award & Recognition

The Eaton Student Leadership Award will include public recognition of the awardee(s) and an engraved memento honoring their award. Presentation of the award will be made at the annual college awards ceremony in the spring semester.
