QPR Suicide Prevention: Question, Persuade, and Refer training aids us in recognizing the signs of someone who is contemplating suicide, AND how to have that conversation to help prevent self-destruction.  You will learn what behaviors, words, and clues are red flags, and how to ask that scary question “Are you thinking about killing yourself?”  Then, we will discuss how to refer that person for further help.

Grief:  Experiencing grief associated with loss is not just difficult but also confusing.  Is my grief normal?  How am I supposed to handle it?  What do I say to someone who is sad?  And because grief is so individual, let’s explore how to function through it without worrying about ‘how to’s.’

Mindful Eating:  If you are new to mindfulness practice, you will learn what it is, how it works, its potential benefits, and how to apply it to eating. If you thought “mindfulness practice” would not apply to eating, you are not new. Even if you are not new to mindfulness practice, you can still join us and enjoy practicing mindful eating together for the last half of the session.  *Please bring a simple meal or snack to eat for lunch during this session. Or you will be asked to eat whatever I offer :-)
