Child and Family Services Curriculum

Effective May 18, 2022, our program is now called Child and Family Services. Child and Family Services students will enroll in 16 core courses. Then, students will choose to enroll in five Child Development electives, or five Family Development electives. All courses in this concentration, including electives, must be passed with a C or better.

The format of courses (online or face-to-face) could change from semester to semester. Students should consult the schedule of classes each semester to determine the format of the course offerings.

  • FACS 312 Ethics for Family Life (Online Spring)
  • FACS 393 Play and Child Development (Online Fall)
  • FACS 395 Child and Family Stress (Spring & Summer online)
  • FACS 399 Implications of Research in FCS (Online Fall)
  • FACS 493 Family Life Education (Online Spring)
  • FACS 494 Parenting Strategies 
  • FACS 495 Family & Relationship Violence
  • FACS 496 Challenging Behaviors (Online Fall)
  • FACS 497 Family Home Visiting (Online Spring & Summer)

All 15 hours of electives must be from the same group.
