What is your favorite time of year at WKU?
Fall

What did you study in college?
I have my undergraduate degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Family Studies. I also earned a certificate in Family Home Visiting during undergrad. I took about a year and a half off from school before deciding to come back to Western to get my Master of Arts in Education in Student Affairs in Higher Education. I am excited to be pursuing my degree in Higher Education as well as beginning my career in this field.

Advice for new Hilltoppers?
My advice to new Hilltoppers is to get involved. I transferred to WKU after my freshman year and I really wish I got more involved when I got to campus. There are SO MANY organizations you can be a part of. Being active on your campus adds so much more value to your college experience. Get on campus, be active, make those meaningful connections with people, and you will do great!

What does the WKU experience mean to you?
To me, the WKU experience means being dedicated to your development. Your college years are really some of the most memorable years of your life. You will learn so much about yourself during this time. It’s a time for growth and exploration! You will learn and grow academically, socially, personally, and professionally.

My favorite WKU tradition and/or memory is:
My favorite WKU tradition is M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan. I was a Resident Assistant when I first transferred to WKU, and I loved working M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan. It was so fascinating assisting all the first-year students make connections. A lot of the girls on my floor were first-generation students like me, so it was a learning experience for all of us. I loved that I was able to learn from them just as much as they were able to learn from me!

What is your favorite spot on WKU's campus?
My favorite place on campus are the steps leading up to Van Meter Auditorium. The Van Meter fountain is so pretty (especially during the fall)!  I used to love sitting on the steps to study or do homework. It has the most beautiful view on campus!
