Biography

Tracy is responsible for assisting Gatton Academy students with navigating the college research and application process. Her goal is to help students find a college that is the right fit for them personally, academically, and financially. Before joining the Gatton Academy in 2015, Tracy was the Executive Administrator for the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children housed at WKU where she worked with educators, students, and parents from all over the globe interested in promoting the needs of gifted children. Prior to joining the WCGTC, she was the Community Outreach Manager at WKU Libraries, Grants Facilitator at the WKU ALIVE Center, Events Coordinator at the Princeton University Bookstore in Princeton, NJ, and an Educational Technology Consultant with Wisconsin Public Broadcasting in Madison, WI. Tracy earned a Master of Science in Communication and a Bachelor of Science in Television-Radio from Ithaca College in New York. Her focus areas were cross-cultural communications and collaborations. Her Master’s project involved creating a model orientation program for international students attending colleges and universities in the United States. Tracy’s husband Dr. Anthony Harkins is a professor in the History Department and Director of the Popular Culture Studies major at WKU. Her daughter attends Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts and her son is a student at Bowling Green High School.
