Task 2: Pre-Reading
Before you read the story, The Polar Express, the materials manager should print out a copy of the anticipation guide for each person in the group.
1. Each group member will read five different sentences.
2. If you agree with the sentence draw a Christmas symbol in the blank under "agree." If you do not agree with the sentence draw a Christmas symbol in the blank under "disagree." Some examples of Christmas symbols might include: trees, bells, reindeer, snowflakes, etcetera.
3. Once each group member has completed the anticipation guide, the materials manager should take up the anticipation guide from each group member.
4. Last, the reporter should inform the teacher that the group has completed the task.
