National Organization

NEA: http://www.nea.org  National Educational Association provides latest information for all educators. This website is for educator supporters, teachers, student teachers, higher level educators, and retired teachers. Teacher can join this organization to receive more information through newsletters. These newsletters and website inform others about education progress nation wide.

 

State Organization

KEA http://www.kea.org/  Kentucky Education Association is a state branch from National Education Association . The website includes information from NEA and correlates to the standards set for Kentucky. Teacher and future teachers can become members of this organization. The website also includes information on a local level for different counties of Kenucky.

Research based Strategies

http://www.csos.jhu.edu/ The Center for Social Organization of Schools (CSOS) is located at John Hopkins University. The focus on the their study educational programs to strengthen them. The researchers consist of sociologist, psychologist, social psychologist, and educators.

Technology

http://www.techlearning.com/  The website consist of information to aid the teachers to improve on their skills. Also this website includes information that will be helpful for those who want to know more about web based instruction. The articles are updated to provide ways to improve instruction.

 

Developmental Appropriate Practice

http://www.ldonline.org/ This is a good source for teachers. Learning disabilities are common in every classroom. The website gives ideals on how to adapt teaching strategy to meet the needs of sstudents.

 

ESL

ESL Resources, Handouts and Exercises for students and teachers:  http://owl.english.purdue.edu/handouts/esl/. The website consist of ways of helping with idioms, grammar, and other common difficulties with the English language. This website provides handouts that can be used for practice and exercises that can be completed on the computer. This will be for those who have a basic understanding of the English language.

http://www.eslgo.com/teacher/ The website consist of resource for teaching English as a second language. This can show teachers how to relate to different topics such as movies, celebrities, tv, and sports to teach English. One movie included was Indiana Jones. This movie is watched and is accompanied with a worksheet. The worksheet is a fill in the blank format. Also the website includes a message board to practice more with their skills and discuss issues with English.

http://www.escort.org/ This is another resource for teachers to use. They provide insightful articles to help a teacher teach students that are ESL. The downloadable files are on all levels of education (primary, secondary, etc).

 

Site for Beginning Teachers

http://atozteacherstuff.com/ A to Z Teacher Stuff has many options for beginning teachers. The website has information divided into different topics and grade level. The printable material is free to everyone. This can also be a resource for experienced teachers

Exceptional Education

http://www.cec.sped.org/  Council for Exceptional Children website provides information from  current EXPOS  to be kept updated on the new material. The website gives list of recent material that is available for exceptional children. The website provides links to other national accredited information to assist the educators.
