be shared among various groups. SS-E- 2.1.2 Elements of culture (e.g., language,

define specific groups and may result in unique
perspectives. SS-E-5.1.1 Accounts of historical events are
influenced by the perceptions of people and passing of
time. SS-E-3.3.2 The direct exchange of goods and
services is called barter. Money has generally
replaced barter as a more efficient system for exchange. Academic Expectation 2.20 Students understand, analyze, and

issues to develop historical perspective. OBJECTIVES: 1. After reading Koala Lou by Mem Fox, the first grade students will each create a page for the Australian alphabet book and receive at least a three out of four on the scoring guide. 2.After viewing the PowerPoint presentation, the first grade students will compare different animals and be able to identify at least four out of five animals from the PowerPoint clues. 3. After reading a short Aboriginal tale, the first grade students will complete their own Aboriginal art displaying quality work scoring a 3 out of 4 on the scoring guide. 4. by Robyn Eversole, the first grade students will compare
the differences between Australian money and 5. After reading segments from Why Do We Have Rules by Caroline Arnold, and after discussing Australias government, the first grade students will get in groups of two to create rules for the classroom which they will receive at least a 3 out of 4 on the scoring guide. |
