PROFESSIONAL

In January of 1983 I started teaching for WKU-Glasgow when classes were scattered all over town.  I continued through the Liberty Street campus years, beginning in 1988, and am now teaching in the South Regional Post-Secondary Education Center, the first of Kentucky's regional post-secondary education centers.  I began editing the student oral history publication Broomsedge Chronicles:  South Central Kentucky Living in 1992 and am currently working on our twentieth issue.  I am writing a book entitled A Guest on Earth:  The Life and Poetry of Joy Bale Boone, Kentucky Poet Laureate 1997-1999.

PERSONAL

I live in Barren County, Kentucky, on land that has been in my family since 1843, and I enjoy reading, taking walks, and relaxing on the front porch swing.  My daughter, Ellen Elizabeth Martin Murrey, has just become a teenager.
