WestCalc logo Web-Based Statistical and Mathematical Calculator Project
The logo design is based on the product integral  (Volterra, 1887) which is the limit of the product of infinitesimal increments  (1 + X(ds)) over some interval [0,t], and  X(s) is a right continuous stochastic process with left-hand limits (cadlag).  The product integral can be thought of as the continuous counterpart of the product (pi) symbol. In survival analysis, the survival function S(t)  can be expressed as the product integral with respect to the process X(ds)= -h(s) , where h(s) is the hazard function. The legs of the product integral are joined to form a "W" for  WestCalc. The two colors represent the synergy of mathematics and computing analogous to the property of the product integral being decomposable into the continous part and the collection of jump points.

Vision and Mission
  1. To provide computational support to courses taught using basic and advanced statistical and mathematical applications.
  2. To provide a way by which new statistical methodologies are introduced to practitioners and the general public.
  3. To serve as a catalyst for  information transfer from the academe to the industry or workplace.
  4. To provide the necessary tools for statisical planning, consulting and analysis with maximum portability and medium that both consultant and client can access and appreciate.
