The Journal of Asia Business Studies
(JABS) is a premier,
international, double-blind reviewed journal. JABS aims to identify and
highlight theoretical and practical issues faced by companies, foreign
or
local, competing in booming markets of Asia,
and by Asian corporations contending in the Western markets. JABS also commits to disseminate knowledge
and information about theoretical advancement and best practices
regarding Asia business.
With its prestigious editorial board
and distinguished team of editors, JABS has attracted numerous
manuscript
submissions and received generous support from scholars around the
world. For

To further advance research on Asia
Business, this Special Issue will be devoted to all financial topics
pertinent
to Asia business. Asia
has experienced tremendous economic growth in the last twenty years.
With the
steady opening of China’s
financial and banking industries, the gradual recovery of Japan from its recent deflation and the
revival
of other Asian economies from the 1997 Asian financial crisis, Asia has been exerting stronger and broader
influence on
the world’s financial and banking markets. JABS sincerely invites
scholars
submitting their high quality original research to this special issue.
Examples
of research topics (but not limited to) are:
- Corporate
governance issues in Asian countries;
- Ownership
structure and firm performance in Asia;
- Executive
compensation issues in Asia;
- New
financial markets in Asia;
- Venture
capital investments in Asia;
- Investment
banking, debt markets and issues with financing and capital structure
choices
in Asia;
- Derivatives
trading and market structure in Asia;
- Banking
research in one or more countries in Asia;
- Mergers
and acquisitions in the region;
- Government
regulations and their impact on financial markets in the region;
- Information
and allocation efficiency in Asian markets;
- Demographics
changes and retirement planning issues in Asia;
- The
state of the real estate markets and real estate finance issues in Asia.
All submitted articles will undergo
a fast-track anonymous review process, which shall complete within 3
months or
less. The submission deadline is December 31, 2007. Authors shall
submit
manuscripts via email as Word attachments to:
