Study Questions on Kant (Chapter 7)

Enlightenment Folk Theories (Unconsciously Held Views) of Mind and Morality

Glossary for Kant

Great philosophers teach us to think by providing a technical vocabulary to help us organize our thoughts. But that means that when we are beginning to do philosophy we have to learn new vocabulary, and remember that philosophical terms often have meanings that differ from the same terms in ordinary language. Here is a glossary of the main philosophical terms employed by Kant, with an emphasis on his philosophy as a whole and his theory of knowledge and its relation to faith.

Kant's Duty Ethics

A brief discussion of Kant's basic ethical notion, the Categorical Imperative, and how to apply it.

The Gist of Kant's Ethical Thought

A longer discussion of Kant's ethical thought, including basic vocabulary not covered in the Kant Glossary above.
