| BASIS FOR
EVALUATION
CPA Problems is offered on a graded basis. In determining the grade for an individual student the following determinants will be used: class attendance and participation, a course notebook, problem assignments, quizzes and examinations. Student performance, particularly with regard to the notebook, must indicate a high level of effort in order to receive a passing grade. There will be a tendency for students to neglect assignments in this course. Don't!! Tentatively, the following point allocation will be utilized:
Deficiencies in class attendance and participation will
factor
into
the evaluation in a negative context. |
This course requires a substantial time
commitment for problem
analysis. Class attendance is mandatory! More
than three (3)
absences will be grounds for dropping a student
from the
course.
The objective of the course is to enhance the student's
skills in
analyzing
and solving problem situations encountered on the
Certified Public
Accountants
Examination. Each week, a homework problem will be due on Tuesday. and an on-line quiz will be due on Thursday. The quizzes are to be completed and submitted on-line each Thursday prior to 8 a.m. Do not submit a quiz more than once. Each quiz will be available on-line until Thursday at 8 a.m. For each question, indicate which choice is the answer. Additionally, your should print a copy of the quiz and for each question provide an explanation and/or numerical support for the answer that you chose. For any questions missed, you are to re-attempt the question(s) and provide an up-dated explanation. These "second attempts" should be included in your notebook. Occasionally, an error may be found in a quiz item. If found in time, it will be corrected and reposted. Be sure you are answering the revised quiz, not a copy that you may have printed out earlier. Do not expect the instructor to give you hints or the answer for a quiz item or a homework problem assignment prior to its submission. |
