he Southeast Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education (SECHRIE) is a professional association comprised of Hotel, Restaurant, Culinary Arts and Tourism educators from colleges and universities located in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. SECHRIE is one of twenty chapters or federations of International CHRIE.
The mission of International CHRIE, has also been adopted by SECHRIE. Our mission is to advance quality education through proactive professional development, research, coalitions and networks for all of our members and constituencies. CHRIE believes in:

-- education as the driver of quality -- excellence in service
-- cooperation, coalitions and global networks
-- proactive change
SECHRIE meets twice per year – Atlanta, GA in February/March and on Hilton Head Island, SC in October. Meetings allow hospitality professors of member schools to exchange research findings as well as perspectives in practice.
