Quest Summary

A friend and apprentice of Malchor Harpell became obsessed with the Age of Worms over a dozen years ago. He left fragmented notes and journals about what he had discovered, including the connection of Kyuss to Kuluth-Mar and Mintarn. At some point, Balakarde disappeared, and not even magic can divine what fate befell him. He is, or was, the foremost expert on Kyuss. If more of his writings can be recovered, or Balakarde himself, the party would have a powerful weapon against Kyuss.

Milestones

• Journal Notes — Balakarde was tracked from Kuluth-Mar to Mintarn due to his notes. Also, his notes indicated his last known destination to be the Wormcrawl Fissure in Skull Gorge.
• Lashonna — Lashonna remembered Balakarde and was able to provide the party with more of his journals.

Setbacks

• Abjuration — Something prevents divination magic from divining the current location or condition of Balakarde.
