Gamma Sigma Alpha, founded in 1989 at the University of Southern California, is the national fraternity and sorority academic honor society. It recognizes fraternities and sororities with advanced academic excellence and promotes the education among Greeks. Their purpose is to encourage excellence in scholarship and instill a greater spirit of cooperation through the Greek community. GSA offers scholarships and recognition of high GPA's at universities all over the nation. Fraternity and sorority members may join Gamma Sigma Alpha with a 3.5 cumulative GPA at the start of their junior year or a 3.5 semester average as a junior or senior.
