Welcome! My position
here at Western includes serving as Professor of Animal Science in the
Department of Agriculture: responsibilities include teaching, applied research,
industry outreach and overseeing the university’s beef unit. I am also active on
several university committees including Leadership Studies and am currently
serving on University Senate. In addition, my duties at Western have allowed me
to act as Program Director for the University's Master’s program in
Administrative Dynamics. My public service and outreach includes involvement on
several national industry committees associated with a variety of projects.
Additionally, I write a column entitled "Monthly Market Profile" now in its
fourth year of publication available through
www.cattlenetwork.com
and the
Kentucky Cattlemen's Association monthly publication, Cow Country News; the
column is designed to cover current market events while also profiling insight
into agriculture industry and beef sector trends and issues. My publication
efforts also include a bi-monthly beef industry column entitled “Beef Biz”
exclusive to CALF News. My wife Sandra works as a District Manager for Purina
Mills; she and I are blessed with a wonderful daughter, Lydia Grace. |
