Randal D. "Randy" Wilson

This Elizabethtown, Kentucky native is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force (service in Texas, Mississippi, Michigan, and Germany).  Randy attend college after his enlistment in the USAF by accessing the GI Bill and working when not in class. Randy has worked in TRIO programs since 1979. He was a counselor and coordinator of the Murray State University Upward Bound Program for 14 years, and then he spent three years as the Director of Upward Bound at Northern Kentucky University before coming to Western Kentucky University where he has worked since 1996.  Randy earned a Specialist In College Teaching Degree (Counseling and Higher Education), a Master of Science in Human Services (Non-School Guidance Counseling), and a Bachelor of Music Education (Vocal Music) from Murray State University.

Randy maintains professional memberships in the Kentucky Association of Educational Opportunity Programs Personnel (KAEOPP), the Southeastern Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel (SAEOPP), and the National Association of Veterans Upward Bound Projects Personnel (NAVUBPP). Randy is also the web master for Fountain Square Players, the local community theatre. Randy enjoys science fiction, computers, reading, music, and building web pages.

Randy is also a current member of the American Legion, Post 23, Bowling Green/Warren County, Kentucky.

Martha Rascoe Kenney 

Martha is a "veteran" counselor, teacher and parent with more than 25  years  experience as a professional educator. She has  served in all levels from  Pre K- Post Secondary. As the wife of a 26 yr. career military officer she has lived and "served" in Kentucky, Tennessee, Maryland, Kansas, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Arizona, Texas, Hawaii (5years) and AFRICA.(2 years in Zaire, and 2 years in Sudan )  and she still loves to travel!!!!

Ms Kenney earned her BS degree in Secondary Education and her Master of Arts degree in Educational Counseling  from Western Kentucky University.  Her husband, Michael R. Kenney, LTC- Ret. also received  his BS degree from WKU. Their children, Melissa and Michael  Jr. also acquired BS degrees from WKU. ( This entire family is WKU educated!!) 

Lastly, as a military spouse, Martha has a personal awareness of the sacrifices that all veterans and their families have given in order to serve in  the military .  On behalf of the Veterans Upward Bound  program and  this one military wife....."Thank you for your service to our great nation." H. Davis Stone 

H. Davis Stone (whom you may know as "Davy")  is a full-time Adult Education Specialist / Technology Coordinator for VUB. Davy also maintains the VUB web page.  He received his Bachelor's degree in French and Master's degree in Education from WKU.  Although Davy has been with VUB since October 1994, he has worked for both Student Support Services and Upward Bound, two other TRIO programs at WKU. Davy enjoys working with students who are learning mathematics, but he also has a passion for creative writing.

David Angle 

David W. Angle is a full-time Adult Education Specialist for VUB.  He is a veteran of the United States Army and an alumnus of Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in graphic arts.  Both he and Davy instruct daytime and evening refresher classes.  David also publishes the VUB newsletter, The Topper.  Although David has only been with VUB since November of 2006, he entered the program as a veteran in November of 1998 and was employed in the program as a student worker in 2000.  He is currently working on his Master's degree in adult education, which he hopes to complete in 2008.  David is a voracious reader, loves music, walking, and bicycling on rural roads.

Bertha Hunter

Bertha Jean Hunter is the Office Associate at VUB, and began working here in December of 2007.  She was born in Paducah, KY, is married, and has two beautiful children.  She previously worked at the Warren County Child Support office for 10 years.  Bertha is currently working on a Bachelors degree in business management through Liberty University.  She and her husband, Samuel Kane Hunter, also operate a part-time barbeque business called Kane’s BBQ.

Kevin Crum 

Kevin is a VA Work Study student worker at VUB.  Originally, from Henderson KY , he now resides in Russellville , KY.   He joined the army in June of 2000.  He traveled all over in that time to places like Korea, Australia, Malta Europe, Japan, and finally ending up in Ft Campbell, KY After 4 years in the army he was honorably discharged.  Kevin is an Iraq war veteran and a life member of the VFW.  He is currently pursuing a degree in Social Work.  

 


Andrew Skinner

Andrew is a VA Work Study student worker at VUB.  Andrew was a student during our 2006-2007 school year, and he came back to work for us in the spring of 2008.
