Paula Trafton

Introduction

Paula Trafton was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She moved to Bowling Green with her husband, Joseph L. Trafton (Philosophy and Religion Department) in 1977. She began her collegiate career in 1977 and (finally!) finished her B. A. in History and English at Western in 1994. Trafton completed her Masters degree in History (with 18 hours of English) in 1997. She now has a joint appointment with University Experience and the History Department. She has taught history classes since the fall of 1996 and University Experience since the fall of 1998. Trafton's passion is teaching history, but she also enjoys helping and interacting with students in her University Experience classes.

Research Interests
Trafton's research interests include history and archaeology of the Middle East, the history of Christianity and Islam.

Other Interests
Trafton has three children. She enjoys reading, knitting, bird watching and her new passion: scrapbooking. She enjoys traveling with her husband to such places as Israel, Germany, London, and to state parks. Her goal is to take another student group tour of Israel.
