It is extremely important for students to possess adequate knowledge of Western Kentucky University’s Library System. In keeping with the fundamental objectives of WKU’s University Experience class, particularly the objective of critical thinking, the Library Skills Component attempts to orient students to the University’s Libraries System. By attending tours of the Helm-Cravens Library and the Kentucky Library and Museum, students will feel more comfortable when they return to conduct research for future projects and papers. Also, students are required to complete the project described below because it provides them with practical experience in utilizing the services offered by University Libraries. The UE Library Skills Component provides students the confidence they need to succeed as a student at Western Kentucky University.
