If you are teaching online or using digital components such as word documents, PowerPoint presentations, or pdf documents, do you know how to create your materials so they are useable by persons with disabilities? Did you realize that making them accessible also improves your ability to communicate with all students, not only those with disabilities? Come hear about the American Disability Act (ADA) requirements and the advantages to you and your students of following them, as well as understanding your legal obligation. Then spend time doing several hands on activities that will let you practice making Word documents, PowerPoint presentation, or pdf documents accessible. You will learn how to deal with images, including charts and graphs, and find out about resources to help your video and audio files be accessible as well. Do you want Quality Matters recognition for your online/hybrid course? Then compliance with ADA standards is required. Attend this lesson to learn more. Co-hosted by TSOnline and FaCET. 2 hours.
