Instructional Design Series

Workshops in this category are designed to give you elements to create, redesign, and convert your course to fully online delivery format. All our workshops in this series are designed to allow participants to explores what others are doing (best practices) in their use of technologies for online teaching.

  • Course Design
    This workshop will cover practical elements of course design focusing on the Quality Matters rubric, a tool to incorporate best practices in your online course design. Ideas and examples on ways that you can improve the design of your online course will be presented.
  • Evaluating/Improving your Online Course
    This workshop will focus on the use of the Quality Matters Rubric for improving your online course. The task-based nature of this workshop requires participants to have an already developed online course that have been taught at least one semester. You will need to have your course accessible in Blackboard (Ecourses).
  • Implementing Project Based Learning
    This workshop is in collaboration with FACET and will present the theoretical aspect of implementing PBL. Reasons for implementing PBL, forms of PBL and common assumptions and mistakes will be covered. Ideas on ways to design PBL for online environments will be presented.
