Welcome to the Scene Shop
The WKU Department of Theatre and Dance Scene Shop is both an active and exciting learning environment. Here, students are given the opportunity to work on mainstage and studio productions in all aspects of the construction process. Scene Design, Properties Design, Technical Direction, Carpentry, and Scene Painting are some of the many ways WKU students receive hands on experience with our productions.
The scene shop is fully equipped with all the tools necessary to support all the department’s Mainstage productions. Here you will be given the opportunity to work side by side with both faculty and fellow students gaining first-hand knowledge on set construction methods and techniques. The scene shop also serves as the main Lab for both the Stagecraft and the multiple Production classes in the department.
Please explore this site to learn about our Scene Shop Facilities and design and production courses offered at WKU. For more information about our program or to arrange a visit to our shop please feel free to contact either Prof. Tom Tuntino at firstname.lastname@example.org or Technical Director a David Pierce at email@example.com or 270-745-2568.
Prof. Tom Tutino instructs student Jessi Sprankle in the art of Scenic Painting.
