Student Teaching Course Registration
All prospective student teachers must register for 13 credit hours during their student teaching semester.
To be cleared for EDU 489 OR EXED 434 (434 is for Exceptional Education Students Only), please contact the School of Teacher Education, Stephanie Wimsatt, 270-745-5414, GRH 1096.
EDU 489 and EXED 434 are 3 hour student teaching seminar courses that will meet every other Friday.
Elementary Majors require 2 – 5 hour ELED 490 courses, 1 Primary and 1 Intermediate.
Middle Grade Majors require 1 – 10 hour MGE 490 in the subject listed as first choice on the student teaching application.
Secondary Majors require 1 – 10 hour SEC 490 in the major as listed on the student teaching application.
Art, CFS, PE Majors require 2 – 5 hour courses. Choose two from ELED 490, MGE 490, and SEC 490 in the major as listed on the student teaching application.
AG, Business & Marketing, Vocational Technology, Health, Foreign Language Majors require 1 – 10 hour SEC 490 in the major as listed on the student teaching application.
Music Majors require 1 – 10 SEC 490 music if they have one student teaching assignment.
require 2 – 5 hour courses if they have two student teaching assignments. Choose
two from ELED 490, MGE 490, and SEC 490 for music.
Special Education Majors require 2 – 5 hour EXED 490 courses.
I.E.C.E. Majors require 2 – 5 hour IECE 490 courses.
The 490 courses are credits for your field experience and do not require a course pass.
