The SOKY Veteran Council bring together representatives from many of the Veterans groups in Southern Kentucky in a forum that allows ideas, plans, and concerns to be shared and discussed. It is an informal organization of veterans and members of the community that are interested in the issues that concern veterans and their families.

Most Veterans groups are actively addressing these needs. They have projects and programs that are on-going but also have ad hoc programs to meet a specific goal or address an immediate problem or opportunity. There is very little in the way of communication or coordination between organizations. The regularly scheduled meetings of the SOKY Veteran Council will work to fill that gap.

Council meetings are held the last Wednesday of each month at the Alive Center on Nashville Road at 3:15pm.  

Purpose: To raise funds and awareness for the Veteran Services Fund which

benefits veteran students at the University of Louisville.

 

The Event: Consists of the Camo Run (designated course circling campus),

Family Activities (bounce house, face painting, etc.), Stage Events, and an

Optional Lunch.
