The Special Needs Summit is an event for parents, caregivers, professionals, staff, and students who have an interest in the special needs community. Workshops will be offered on various topics relating to special needs. The keynote speaker is Amalia Starr, motivational speaker and author of Raising Brandon: Creating a Path to Independence to Your Adult "Kid" with Autism & Special Needs.
Workshops will be offered to parents, caregivers, professionals, and students on topics relevant to special needs. Topics include:
- Mother and Son's 40 year Journey
- Get into your Child's Head through their Ears; learn how the auditory and vestibular senses form the foundation for learning and our interaction with the world.
- Youth nutrition and healthy eating behavior change
- Implementing Function Based Interventions to Decrease Challenging Behavior
Vendor tables providing information on community resources and services will be available.
CEUs/Early Care Education hours/EILA Credits/First Steps Provider Choice Training Hours will be offered. Click here for more information.
Priority Registration through Tuesday, October 11th at 4:00 pm
After Priority Registration:
Lunch will be provided for those who register for the whole day.
Registration will take place from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
