Welcome Parents
Welcome to the SAGL “Parents’ Section” of our website. We have created this page to provide you with information and to answer any questions you might have about the study abroad application process.
As I am sure you are aware, certain federal regulations prohibit us from sharing certain student information with others, including their parents. The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is very clear about what information we are able to share with parents. As is often the best scenario, consulting with your son or daughter is the best way to have some of your questions answered.
I commend you for encouraging your son or daughter to study abroad. It truly is a wonderful experience and we are here to help make it a reality for them.

Study abroad is an exciting opportunity for students to learn about the world and themselves in a way that complements their university education. Students are oftentimes very enthusiastic about study abroad, but on many occasions parents do not receive the information necessary to help them make important decisions regarding their child’s experience abroad. This study abroad chat is designed to allow parents of prospective study abroad students the opportunity to communicate directly with the Director of Study Abroad and Global Learning or the Study Abroad Advisor. Please make note of the following dates so that you may communicate with representatives from the Office of Study Abroad and Global Learning.
