The Study Abroad and Global Learning Office (SAGL) and the International Student Office (ISO) will host an orientation at the beginning of each semester. All incoming international students (including J-1 students) should arrive and check-in by January 19th at the International Student Office. Orientation will take place during the week of January 18-22, 2015. A detailed schedule will be provided during check-in.
We will have break-out sessions for J-1 visa holders like you, where your specific needs as Exchange Visitors will be addressed. The orientation will also provide you with a chance to meet the Study Abroad and Global Learning (SAGL), International Student Office (ISO) staff, and your Exchange Student Mentors. The orientation and many of its components are MANDATORY for J-1 students.
Please inform Katherine Hale of your arrival plans and flight itinerary. Please note, exchange students are responsible for their own transportation arrangements from the airport to their residence. Students who are living on campus will need to have their student ID number available for check-in. Students who have chosen to live off-campus are responsible for working with their private housing organization to schedule check-in. If you arrive prior to the official check-in date, you will need to arrange hotel accommodations or summer housing. The earliest you can check-in to on-campus housing for the spring 2016 semester (Barnes and Bemis Halls) is January 17th.
