Dr. John Baker

Bio and Interests
John Baker is an Assistant Professor in Organizational Leadership, an academic unit in the School of Professional Studies, University College. Prior to joining WKU in 2006, Dr. Baker had a career in the US Army where he spent over 26 years on active duty serving throughout the United States and overseas. His assignments included various command and staff positions, Instructor at the United States Military Academy in the Department of Geography and Environmental Engineering, and Professor of Military Science and Leadership at both Drexel University and Western Kentucky. Dr. Baker earned a BS degree from West Point in 1980, a MS degree in Physical Geography from the University of Wisconsin in 1990, a MS degree in Engineering Management from Drexel University in 2000, and a Doctorate in Education from WKU in 2011. Dr. Baker's research interests focus on peer and military leadership.
