After 15 years of service to WKU Pamela Napier has accepted the position of Director of Sponsored Programs at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia.
Over the last 15 years, Pamela has been an asset to the Office of Sponsored Programs and WKU by providing valuable support, guidance and expertise, Nancy Mager, Director of Programs said. “Although we will miss her, the OSP staff joins me in wishing her well in this new endeavor,” said Mager.
Napier began her tenure with WKU, Office of Sponsored Programs as Information Coordinator in 1996, became Assistant Director in 2001 and Associate Director in 2004.
She assisted faculty and staff in locating and assessing external funding sources, developed proposals, assisted with budget development, and administered awards. Under her leadership she produced the WKU Scholar, WKU’s research magazine.
"Pamela has been a powerful force, and a tireless worker in the Office of Sponsored Programs," said Dr. Gordon Baylis, Vice President of Research and President of the WKU Research Foundation. "I cannot imagine anyone involved in funded projects at WKU who has not been assisted by Pamela over the years. But, presented with a wonderful career opportunity, Pamela has made the obvious decision. Of course we will miss her, but I wish her well with the building opportunity she has at Agnes Scott."
In her new position with Agnes Scott College Napier will develop and administer programs college-wide. She will work with faculty, the director of accounting, Dean of the College and director of corporate relations.
Posters-at-the-Capital, an annual event, provides educational information to Kentucky State Legislators on the importance of undergraduate research and scholarly work.
Hangout Creative, owned by two WKU graduates, Blake Blackburn and Joel Nivens, will be moving out of Innoplexx, a student business accelerator to a new location soon.
