Choral Society

The membership of the Bowling Green-Western Choral Society is a mixture of students, faculty, staff, and community members with an interest in choral masterworks with orchestra. The BGWCS is a member of Chorus America, the national organization which serves the needs of independent, orchestra and community choruses. The BGWCS was established in 1993 through the merger of the University Choral Union and Bowling Green Choral Society.

Monday, 7-9 pm, FAC 181 - Band Room MUS 340-500

AUDITIONS will be held just prior to the first rehearsal (Monday, August 31) , from 5:30 - 6:45 pm in FAC 358. No scheduled audition time is needed, but please come as early as possible. The first rehearsal will start at 7 pm. STUDENTS - REGISTER NOW FOR THIS CLASS, THEN AUDITION.

The audition consists of:

Vocal exercises to determine range and agility
Pitch retention exercises

(The recital hall is on the ground floor of the Ivan Wilson Fine Arts Complex (FAC), which is building #39 on the campus map; room 358 is on the 3rd floor)

In addition to its own concerts, the BGWCS regularly collaborates with the Bowling Green-Western Symphony Orchestra and has performed many choral/orchestral masterworks, including:
