Personal Statement Review
The South Central AHEC will review personal statements for students applying to medical, dental, pharmacy, physical therapy or other health professions programs. Please e-mail your personal statement in a Word document to: lucy.juett@wku.edu and allow 5 days for a response.
Personal statements are very subjective and students should have more than one person review them for both grammar and content. Your personal statement should answer the question, “Why do you want a career in ________?” It should also try to capture information not available on your application and anything that will make you stand out from all the other applicants. This is not easy to do. Don’t wait until the last minute to start writing your personal statement. The best personal statements require several drafts before the final product is complete.
