Fire Safety at WKU

Big Red in a fire truck

Living off campus can be an important and rewarding part of the college experience.

With a little knowledge and awareness, it can also be a safe experience.

Since 2000, 86 fatal fires have occurred on college campuses, in Greek housing, or in off-campus housing within 3-miles of the campus. These fires claimed 123 lives. More than 80 percent of campus fire fatalities occur in off-campus housing.

WKU and the City of Bowling Green are working together to promote safety for everyone at WKU, whether student, faculty, staff or visitor and whether living on or off campus.
