SACS 2015 Reaffirmation of Accreditation

Welcome to the Western Kentucky University SACS Reaffirmation website.

WKU is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC; 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033-4097, or call (404) 679-4500) to award associate, baccalaureate, master, specialist and doctoral degrees.  WKU is preparing for its next reaffirmation of accreditation by the SACS Commission on Colleges in 2015.  Reaffirmation of accreditation is a critically important element in the continued success of our institution, and the preparation process is one that directly or indirectly engages every member of the WKU community.

While many faculty and staff will be asked to serve on various committees to develop specific portions of our reaffirmation materials, it is important that each of us be familiar with both the standards for accreditation and the manner in which WKU is addressing them. We invite you to use the information and resources available on this site to become better educated about the SACS Principles of Accreditation for which we are required to document compliance, keep track of our progress in preparing the Compliance Certification Report and Quality Enhancement Plan for SACS accreditation team reviews in 2014-15, and, last but not least, contribute to the process through offering constructive feedback and advice.
