Getting Connected to Your Online Classroom

Access to TOPNET

TOPNET is our student services system. It will allow you to register for classes (if you have already gone through Admissions), see your class schedule, view your final grades and transcript, even pay your tuition.

You already have a TOPNET account. To access it, use your other open browser window.

  • Go to http://www.wku.edu
  • Click on the Quick Links box (you may have to scroll down a little to see it.)
  • Click on Topnet Registration

There is also a link in the navigation at the bottom of this page. There are several ways to get here. This is what your window should look like: picture of Internet Explorer Topnet menu to find the login button which is the first one in the column, called TopNet Login

Once you have gotten here, click on the first choice: TopNet Login

Read the instructions carefully. Your WKU ID number is no longer your social security number. To find your WKU ID number, click on the button "Look Up My WKU ID". A popup will appear with some questions and then you'll see your WKU ID number. Your PIN is the 6 digits of your social security number. Enter those and then click the Login button.

It will go to a page asking you to change your password. DO THIS NOW and write it down someplace safe, no dogs or kids or cleaning spouses allowed :-)

You will need this new password for the next step so keep it handy.

Congratulations! You are now in Topnet. Feel free to browse around. Find your schedule and see which classes you are in.

For Kentucky Virtual University (KYVU) students--you cannot register or add/drop courses this way, but you can look at your schedule, transcripts and pay your tuition bill online. KYVU students who wish to drop a course must contact Ms. Judy Hatcher ( judy.hatcher@wku.edu or 270-745-5401) in the Registrar's Office. You will not be dropped by contacting the professor or KYVU.
