Research Interests
My research focuses on how cognitive aging affects language processing and comprehension. This includes research on how external factors (e.g., text structure, reading environment, etc.) and internal factors (e.g., reader goals, attentional capacity, etc.) affect older adults' ability to process and retain information that they read. Currently, the Adult Learning Lab is conducting research on age differences in attentional lapses during reading, and the effects of various aspects of language and psychological mechanisms. If you are a current or prospective student interested in getting involved in this research, feel free to contact me via e-mail.
