Membership
Eligibility for membership in Psi Chi for undergraduates includes:
- Registration for major or minor standing in psychology (or for a program psychological in nature)
- Completion of 3 semesters or 5 quarters of the college course
- Completion of 9 semester hours or 14 quarter hours of psychology courses
- Ranking in the top 35% of one’s class in general scholarship with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) in both psychology classes and in cumulative grades
Eligibility for graduate students includes:
- Registration for major or minor standing in psychology (or for a program psychological in nature)
- A minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in all graduate courses
Applying for Membership in Psi Chi
- Fill out the Psy Chi Membership application (pdf) form.
- Fill out the form for the Psi Chi Registration Card (pdf)
- Both completed forms can be turned in to an officer, the faculty advisor, or the Psi Chi mailbox located in the Psychology Department on the 3rd floor of Gary A. Ransdell Hall.
- Students should not leave money or checks with these forms. The fee will be collected at a later time.
Psychology Club
The Psychology Club is an organization for those who are interested in psychology
but who do not necessarily meet the membership requirements for Psi Chi, and who may
not even be majoring/minoring in psychology. Except for certain special occasions,
Psi Chi and the Psychology Club at WKU function cooperatively as one cohesive unit.
Membership for the WKU Psychology Club is open to any student.
