WKU Departmental Numbers
Frequently Asked Questions

*Is it okay to start using the new addresses BEFORE July 1?

We recommend that you do not use the new address prior to July 1.  The reason is because the USPS isn't going to enter the information into their database until July 1st.  The problem with using the address before July 1st is "1906 College Heights Blvd" does not exist to the USPS.

*Why did you release the new address and departmental numbers early?

We released the numbers early to allow departments the opportunity to prepare for the change and utilize funding from old & new year.

*I have stationery and brochures that I would like to use, how long can I use the old "Big Red Way" address after July 1st?

Departments will have until August 31, 2005 to use up any old stationery or printed material with Big Red Way on it.

*What happens if I receive mail after July 1st with the old address on it, will it be returned to sender?

No, we will have up to 12 months to get all of our addresses updated prior to it being returned to sender.

*Does inter-campus mail need the department mail stop number?

No, we will continue to sort campus mail by department names only.  All that will be necessary for campus mail is the individual's name and department's name.

*What type of correspondence do I need to change my address on?

Letterhead, Business Cards, Envelopes, Brochures, Website information, Email Signatures.

*My Department has a WKU Box number at the Campus Post Office, what is my new address?

The address for WKU Box Mail is:

Your Name
1906 College Heights Blvd #8***
Bowling Green  KY 42101-1041

We are removing the "WKU Box" from the address and using a single address line versus a dual address to simplify things.  Please note that the +4 for WKU Boxes located at the Campus Post Office is 1041.
